Ms. Lamaster-2nd grade
Hello!
Here is a little about myself: Before I began my teaching career I worked for Cummins Corporation as a scheduler. After over 10 years in the corporate world, I decided I really wanted to be a teacher so I went back to school, received my masters and undergraduate degree in education from Indiana University--a decision I have never regretted.
I taught 5th grade math for 17 years in Indiana, 3rd grade advanced and accelerated math at NPES, and when a 2nd grade teaching spot opened up, I jumped at the chance. I have loved every teaching position and have learned so much at each grade level, but I have to say that I absolutely love 2nd grade!
I have two amazing children, Crystal and Spencer. I also have 4 grandchildren who keep life very exciting. Tyson, the oldest starts 6th grade this year. It is fun to hear him talk about school through the eyes of an 11 year old. Eden just turned 10 and is excited about being in 5th grade, Emerson Rose is 6 and wants to do absolutely everything all by herself. Lastly there is Jaxon. He is 4 and busy getting into everything and we are busy chasing him!
I enjoy playing tennis, running, and cycling. For me, everything exciting and fun revolves around food. I love to travel, see new places, and try new things.
I feel fortunate to have a profession that is challenging, rewarding, and touches the lives of so many young people.
Mission statement: To teach concepts in a creative and unique way that excite and motivate students to love learning.
Let's enjoy a wonderful year working together to make your child's 2nd grade experience positive, rewarding, and successful.
