This Week:
We have been busy taking our Unit 2 math assessment, reading assessment, and celebrating our writing assessments. All of the reading & math assessments have been graded and entered into Infinite Campus. I am done grading about 1/2 of the writing assessments. Overall, they did a great job on all of these assessments. I am so proud of the improvement and hard work they have shown
In social studies we are the Bear, Deer, Wolf, and Panther clans and 1/2 of our classroom are Creek Indians and the other half are Cherokee Indians. Some of the students are famous Native American Indians: Mary Musgrove, Sequoyah, etc. They are finishing their Native American booklets
Curriculum week of 11/18:
Phonics: ir, ire, ier, Skill words ending in le
Writing: Students will begin to write opinion pieces, especially their opinion aout characters in the books they are reading. We will also study letter writing.
Math: Unit 3 measurement. We will begin with estimating, understanding which measurement tool to use, learning both standard and metric system of measurement. Measuring and comparing two objects.
Reading: We are beginning an in depth study into character understanding and analysis. This is fun and the students enjoy learning about the characters in their story.
