Hi Parents!
We made it through the first day and got a lot done! We talked about rules and expectations and will continue to talk about this the rest of the week. I will send home our classroom rules (student created) and my expectations and procedures for the classroom on Friday. During curriculum night we will be discussing this briefly as well.
We started a new book we will finish tomorrow. The students thought about things they were good at and can do and then wrote down something they can't do, but want to learn this year. We created a bar graph of our names. We used a Venn diagram to compare and contrast Miss Honey and Miss Trunchbull from Matilda.
Tomorrow I will be sending home our first homework for both students and parents. On one side of a worksheet students will be writing "All About Me!" and on the backside parents need to fill out the questionnaire. I appreciate your input to help create a learning experience that works best with your child individual needs. We can talk about these more at parent/teacher conferences, but this is a great start for me. Thanks in advance for filling out yet another paper for school :)
Also, some people have had difficulty logging into BrainPopJr. Here are step-by-step directions:
1. Go to BrainPopJr website
2. Then Enter Code
3. Enter code lamaster1819>submit
4. Now you are ready to signup. Go to the bottom of the page where it says, "Sign up now!"
5. Now you are ready to signup using your student username (lunch number) and password (mmddyyyy)
You will need to finish the rest of the questions. Then you are ready to explore. I will have assignments that students will need to go on BrainPopJr, enter code (lamaster1819), login, watch the homework video, then take quiz, AND SUBMIT TO TEACHER. If they don't submit it to me it won't show that they completed the assignment. We will try this for a homework assignment this week for a health lesson. I will email you the assignment after we start our safety unit.
Enjoy your evening,
Laura Lamaster
