We had a great time at LEGOLAND! Thank you so much to Heather Gravranovic and Sandy Bahhur for being our chaperones. The students built gears, saw a 4D movie, built boats and raced to see which one was fast & built to last, along with many other activities.
Don't forget we have Field Day on 4/17: If you don't have a red 3rd grade t-shirts. We do have extra up front if there are students that still want to purchase them. $5 for K-4 and $6 for 5th.
We finished our country reports and students presented them to the class. They shared these during Spring Showcase. I am so proud of how far the students have improved in their writing skills. I will be sending these home in their Reading Data Binders at the end of the year.
In reading we are finishing our Literature Circle stories: Old Yeller & Frindle. These are 2 great stories that I am really enjoying reading. As soon as we finish these books we will take a test over these books.
In science we are studying magnets. I sent home a study guide last week and we reviewed it today. We will have a test the magnet test on Wednesday.
If you have Ms. Lamaster for math:
We are reviewing math skills for the end of the year. I have put some review skills on my website so they can review everything we have learned throughout the year. Also, remember students can always use IXL (students can challenge themselves with 4th & 5th); MobyMax, and RedBird. These are all great ways reinforce skills over the summer so they don't forget over the summer. On Friday they are using the review cards they have been working on as clues when they play games.
Have a great week,
Laura Lamaster
