Hello Amazing Parents,
I hope you are all enjoying wonderful family time over your extended holiday weekend. I have enjoyed meeting many of during parent teacher conferences to discuss your child's progress in 3rd grade. The goal to work together to make your child as successful as possible in school.
The field trip to Consolidated Mining Gold mine was a huge success. I have pictures posted on my Twitter account (@laura_lamaster) and will soon have pictures on my website (mslamaster.weebly.com)
Your child should be reading every evening. They also need to be reading at least one RAZ Kids (Learning A-Z) book each week. If your child is struggling with reading they will need to read more to help them catch up and be prepared for 4th grade.
On Tuesday, students will take a Write Score writing assessment. This is an assessment that is review and graded by an outside group and then results are shared with teachers later. It is a helpful way to see areas of strength and weakness to help drive our writing instruction.
We will begin our Pollution Solution brochure this week as we are learning about natural resources, types of pollution, & the 3R's (reduce, reuse, & recycle).
If you are in Ms. Lamaster's math class:
Please continue to work with your child to improve their multiplication facts. Most of the students know their facts up to their 5's, but are struggling with their 6,7, & 8's.
As I was checking homework last week, I saw that some students are falling behind with their IXL assignments. These are the same students that are struggling with our daily "Ticket Out the Door" because they haven't had the independent practice to learn & reinforce so they can be successful in class. Please check and make sure your child is completing their IXL assignments. Additionally, they have assignments that are assigned in class that they might need to finish at home.
4th grade IXL:
Tuesday- D.18
Wednesday-D.20
Friday-D.25
Have a wonderful weekend!
