Hello Wonderful Parents!
What a rainy week! It is always difficult for the children when they can't get outside and play, but we managed. Hopefully, they can get out this weekend.
A flyer went home about our Thanksgiving meal. Please note, that you only have to pay for yourself (if you are coming), your child's meal will already be covered with your meal plan.
We are starting New Prospect Book Fair soon. Our class has their Book Fair preview Wednesday from 8:00-8:40. Don't forget to send $ for the Book Fair on 11/19. Our time is 8:00-8:30 which means if you forget to send $ in the morning, unless you are really quick, they probably won't have their $ by the time we go to the library.
We will have our Unit 3 reading test Wednesday over myth, legends, fable, & folktales. When we reviewed fables and students had to match the moral with the fable they really struggled with this. I also noticed that they were missing key details from the story and not going back to check to see if they were right when answering the question. Sometimes they were giving me answers that weren't in the selection. You might want to pick out some fables on RAZ kids and discuss some of the details and see if they can figure out the moral. Can they support this with text from the story?
I am looking at the economy study guides on my desk that I meant to send home over the weekend for our test on Friday :( I can't believe this! I will hand these out on Monday, review, and send this home so you can begin to study. This will also include the major U.S. rivers & mountains. I am sorry, I always like to have these to you so you can study over the weekend.
If you have Ms. Lamaster for math:
We will have our math test on Tuesday. I sent home study guides last week in their math data binders. Unfortunately, some of the students didn't come back with their math data binders with their study guide so they could review and get the corrected answers. This test will be over multiplication and division, numbers, operations, and algebraic thinking. One of the ways you can help your child to be successful is completing the IXL assignments. The students who aren't completing these assignments are the ones struggling with our daily work.
Homework IXL 4th grade:
Monday-E.7
Wednesday-G.1
Friday- G.2
Have a great weekend,
Laura Lamaster
