Dear Wonderful Parents!
The school play starts this Friday. Bradey Johnston, Sophia Long, Claire & Katherine Breland are in the play, so if you are looking for a highly entertaining performance (Sundance quality :), then attend the play this weekend. I am going Friday and I hope to see you there.
We had a busy week with a reading assessment and Frederick Douglass quiz. I have both assessments posted online so you can see how well your child did. I need to keep the reading assessments in their reading data journal, but if you would like to see any of these tests just let me know and your child can bring home the reading data binder.
We will be starting a new unit in reading about information text which will include comparing and contrasting two different information articles and/or stories. We will also be learning about adjectives and comparative & superlative adjectives. The reading assessment will be the week of February 29.
In social studies we will be studying Susan B. Anthony and will be taking a quiz on Friday. We will also be discussing Mary McCloed Bethune and have a class assignment about this famous American.
If you have Ms. Lamaster for math:
We will take our math assessment on Tuesday. We reviewed study guides and the students took home corrected study guides last week, so be sure and review this with your child. Please return these so these can be kept in their math data binder. We will begin geometry on Wednesday. Our homework assignments are:
Monday:
3.2--IXL T.6-3rd grade
4.1--IXL U.1-4th grade
Wednesday:
3.2--IXL V.2-3rd grade
4.1--IXL P.1-4th grade
Friday:
3.2--IXL V.3-3rd grade
4.1--IXL P.2-4th grade
Have a great week!
Laura Lamaster
