Hi Amazing Parents!
The students are all excited about their music program Wednesday, 3/15. The students need to be at the school at 6:00.
Report cards will be going home on Thursday, 3/23. Several of you may notice a drop in your child's grades. It is so important that your child completes the assignments in class, on Google Classroom, and your child utilizes the resources that I have provided on my website. This will help your child be successful on the Georgia Milestones. (starts 4/13)
Please make sure your child is reading at least 30 minutes each night. Studies show that good study habits and responsibility are learned by the age of 9. It is so important to be an active part on your child's learning. Read with your child and ask them questions so they are accountable and are comprehending what they are reading. Make sure they are taking the time to fill out their reading log correctly. Writing is a big component on Georgia Milestones. Have them write a quick summary of what they just read. Does it make sense? How could it be better?
I have been getting many excuses from children about why they didn't do their homework or why they didn't study, and unless there was a serious emergency, I do not accept those excuses. School should be their main priority. I use the analogy with them that school is like their job, and they cannot show up to their job unprepared. If we teach our students responsibility and good study habits now, they will use these habits for life :)
