In reading we starting our Animal Research Club unit. They selected several animals. They will work in a small group with other students who selected the same animal, then for the 2nd half of the unit they will be working with another group on the second animal they selected. The students are excited about this. We will get into this in more depth this week. Because of testing, we had to push this unit back a few days.
In social studies, the students took a quiz over Lyndon B. Johnson on Friday. The grades are entered on Home Access. I am very proud with how well the students did. We will begin Thurgood Marshall on Monday and they will take a quiz on Friday. Then the following week we will be learning about Cesar Chevaz with a quiz on Friday 5/5. They will also be working on a project from a famous American they selected from all the people we have studied this year. They will be selecting their person towards the end of next week.
In math we have finished all of our units and review, so we will begin to dive a little deeper into the curriculum getting them ready for their math placement assessments and STAR math. Next week we will be looking at coordinates, coordinate planes, volume and 3 dimensional objects, pre algebra, and work problems.
Homework for the week: Everyone will be in 4th grade math for the rest of the school for IXL :)

Have a wonderful weekend,
Laura
